Vincent D'Acuti Papers

 Collection
Identifier: mss-261

Scope and Content Note

The Vincent D'Acuti Papers show the activity of South Burlington, Vermont while it transitioned from a town to a city. Mr. D'Acuti was a board member for the agencies represented in this collection. The largest extent of the material relates to the Burlington International Airport, followed by that of the City of South Burlington and the Lake Champlain Bridge Commission. The material from the Sara Holbrook Center and UVM Council comprise only a small portion of the collection. The majority of the papers are meeting minutes, correspondence, and reports regarding the finances, activities, or physical characteristics of agency sites. Financial reports consist of budgets, expense reports, invoices and monthly invoice lists, revenue reports, expense reports, expenditure reports, audit reports, and disbursement records. Every effort has been made to maintain the original arrangement; thus, supporting material is regularly filed with meeting minutes in which the topics were discussed with the exception financial information which was often removed and filed separately. Users are encouraged to utilize the files titled "Meeting Minutes and Agendas" throughout the collection. Mr. D'Acuti utilized a mostly chronological filing system, so these files cover a wide variety of topics and show the regular activity of the agencies represented. The papers are arranged in five distinct series (based on agency affiliation), then alphabetically by file title, with similar material grouped together under topical headings. Note that the bulk of the material is from 1963 to 1968 and 1983 to 1988 with very little material present from the 1970s.
