Charles Morrow Wilson Papers
Wilson worked as a writer and journalist. Collection includes letters to Wilson; articles (1929-60) on topics such as farming, economics, health, industry, and travel; drafts, galleys, and page proofs of his books; reviews of his work; and notebooks, newspaper clippings, and other papers. Includes letters (1959) in response to an article in Reader’s Digest critical of Orval Faubus, Governor of Arkansas.
Ernst Benkert Sketchbooks and Notebooks Collection
Painter and art educator Ernst Benkert (1928-2010) was a founding member of the Anonima artists group. Materials include 127 sketchbooks of drawings; 69 notebooks of collected quotes and travel diaries; a scrapbook; one folder of photographs of paintings; and a group of publications about Benkert and his work.
Johnson Finney Papers
The Johnson Finney Papers consist of one box of Finney's diaries for intermittent periods of the years between 1809 and 1858. Finney's diary entries, which average approximately seven lines per day, focus on day-to-day activities on the farm and at the sawmill.
Lucius E. Chittenden Papers
The Lucius E. Chittenden papers include correspondence, letter books, account books, court dockets, transcriptions of testimony, lists of books, notebooks recording a trip to England (1871) which includes impression of bookseller Henry Stevens and various libraries, notes on rare books, notes on formation of the Republican Party in 1848, translations by Chittenden of descriptions of early French explorations of North America.
Smith Family Papers
Collection includes correspondence and other papers of a prominent Vermont political family. The Smith Family Papers contain correspondence, legal documents, notes, typed and printed material, newspaper clippings and assorted family memorabilia.
