The collection includes more than one thousand photographic prints and negatives of Burlington, Vermont. Photographs are classified by subject, including streets, buildings, buses and trolleys, waterfront, parks, stores, factories, parades, and specific buildings such as the Queen City Cotton Company factory and St. Paul's Cathedral.

The materials were created by individuals and organizations and are primarily correspondence, governement records, and business records.

This collection of postcards, which includes some photographs and photoengravings, is mostly landscapes and cityscapes. The postcards are arranged in metal drawers by town/place with subject subdivisions. Most date from the 1890s to the 1940s.
