Biography
Roger Enos (1768-1841) was one of the original proprietors of Irasburgh. The town was deeded to his sister Jerusha when she married Ira Allen. Enos was associated with Heman Allen in nearly all the transactions of the proprietors during the first years of the settlement. He served as Justice of the Peace for Chittenden County, was deputy collector of customs during Madison's administration, was representative in 1812, 1821 and 1824, and was a member of the 1828 Constitutional convention.
Roger was a son of Major General Roger Enos, officer of the Revolution. The General's other children included Pascal P. and Jerusha, who married Ira Allen. Jerusha's son Ira H. Allen was executor of Roger Enos' estate.
