George Saunders Family Papers

The George Saunders Collection includes a large selection of wedding invitations (1862-1936), family photos by Burlington photographers and others (1870-1900), some family papers, most notably, a selection of bills and receipts (1890-1900) with fine engraved letterheads of Burlington concerns, scrapbooks of clippings (1865-1927), a guest book of the George Linsley family cottage at Cedar Beach, Charlotte, VT (1889-1920) and other items mostly relating to the George Linsley family of Burlington. Many of the photos, broadsides and other printed materials have been added to other collections and these are listed on the attached separation sheet There is also a list of Burlington and Vermont Photographers whose work is represented in the collection. A catalog of the Whitfield and Bliss School of New York City has been filed with the collection of Anna Pope photos of classmates from the school (?). This catalog is notable because it lists Rudyard Kipling of Brattleboro, VT and Edward A. Pope of Burlington as references.
