Diaries contain very brief entries entirely devoted to weather, her own personal activities (washing, ironing, shopping, etc.), and family events (birthdays, husband taking a trip, etc.). One school notebook belonging to son Fletcher Bearse is also present.

Biographical / Historical
Florence Thomas was born in Brandon, Vermont on December 31, 1892 to Lucien J. Thomas and Adeline Thomas. She had two siblings, Raymond and Edith (1881-1959). Florence Thomas married Percy F. Bearse (1883-1967), and they had two sons, Fletcher and Raymond (1919-1992). Raymond Bearse was an author and reporter for the Associated Press and Time-Life Magazine. Florence Thomas Bearse enjoyed sewing and bridge, and was an active member of the Brandon community, serving in the Brandon Congregational Church, the Round About Club, and the women’s degree team of Neshobe Grange. Bearse died in Brandon on December 12, 1974.
