This collection contains correspondence regarding anniversary meetings and membership, photographs of members, meeting minutes since the group's founding in 1878, and the Burlington chapter's relationship with other "Friends" in the United States. The collection also consists of Arthur Helps' "Friends in Council" volumes 1 and 2.

Historical Note

Friends in Council is a cultural and social group made up of women who participate in intellectual (primarily historical) research and share their findings with peers at regular meetings. While many members are involved with philanthropic endeavors, Friends in Council as a collective is not.
