The collection also contains some miscellaneous materials, including an obituary, a magazine article, and photograph negatives, subjects unknown. There were also three books found with the letters which appear to have been used for educational instruction. Also with the collection are two albums of photographs. One such album was found with the letters at 49 Mansfield Avenue, according to a handwritten note from donor Tanya Joyce. Most photographs in this album are unlabeled or labels are obscured. The other photograph album is unrelated to the Gilberta Daniels Goodwin Papers except that they were both given by Tanya Joyce. This album includes some name labels.

Biographical

Gilberta H. Daniels (married name Goodwin) was born circa 1884-1885 to Professor Archibald L. Daniels and Mary Ferris Daniels. She was the eldest of their children, with siblings Archie, Helen, Robert, Lincoln, and Isabel. It appears Mary Ferris Daniels died not before 1902 but no later than 1904. Her father, Gilberta's grandfather, was G. Hopkins Ferris. The collection's correspondents include Gilberta's aunts Phoebe, Jess, Jose, Sal, and Helen, uncles Richard and August T. Daniels, Eliza W. Nash, who acted as caretaker for the Daniels children during Mary Ferris Daniels' illness, cousin Clara Eugenia Daniels, friend Mildred, as well as various other relations and friends. According to an obituary in the collection, Gilberta was still alive as of 1969 when her brother Robert died.
