History
The Church in Vergennes began during an effort to rejuvenate the faltering Addison County Association in 1867. The attempts to revitalize the Association were so successful that two new churches, one in Middlebury and one in Vergennes, were also started. The Vergennes church then joined the Addison Association in 1868, remaining a member until declining local support in Vergennes resulted in its dissolution in 1926.
