Scope and Contents note

The Leland Kinsey Papers contain writings, notes, correspondence, and publicity for poet Leland Kinsey's work, 1970-2008. The collection includes Kinsey's personal writings and notes for his work, magazines with published work both by Kinsey and others, information on teaching workshops for the Vermont Council on the Arts program, correspondence with publishers, publicity and reviews, including newspaper clippings, of Kinsey's work, and a small amount of personal papers.

Biographical/Historical note

Leland Kinsey (d. 2016) was a Vermont poet and a teacher for the Vermont Council on the Arts. Born and raised in Barton, Vermont, Kinsey earned a MFA from Syracuse University, later returning to live in Vermont.

Other notable names in the collection include Leslie Kinsey, Leland's wife, Erwin Kinsey, Leland's cousin and director of Heifer International in Tanzania, and Howard Frank Mosher, a teacher and friend of Leland.
